A day of shows

There's a bit of down-time before punters start rocking up for the Liar's gig, so I thought I'd report on what we saw today:

First up, Jacob's Ladder, a dark comedy about a guy trying to start his own cult.  Clearly still in development, solid idea well acted but let down by over-use of exposition through monologues.

Go if you have complementary tickets.

Next we caught Obama-Mia.  The plot from Dave, set to music, based around the Obama election.

Go if you get concession tickets.

After that moved as quick as we could to see a poetry event I had been invited to the night before.  I went to the wrong room and saw Bennet Arron instead, who was talking about identity theft.

Worth the price of admission.

Finally we crossed the city to the Jekyll and Hyde and caught Matthew Highton, whose pop-culture fueled, high energy, interactive style of comedy was magnificent.

Pay whatever he asks.
