We took the Skeptic to Times Square, because he hadn't seen that.

The old photo of a photo trick. |
Then it was on the subway to Queens, as we had a full day of festivals to attend.
|
The street art got better as we left Manhattan |
The first was the Makers Faire at the New York Hall of Science. An eclectic blend of inventors, researchers and artists had their discoveries and wares on display.

There was also some great food available.
|
We ate the giant paella, which was not that great. |
Just up the hill, behind the hall, a group had set up a "full-sized" mouse-trap. I took the lessons the Scoundrel had taught, and stuck my hand up when they asked for volunteers. I was honoured to hoist the safe they used in lieu of a cage in their set.
|
The full-sized mouse-trap was popular |
It was also nice seeing the landmarks in the world's faire ground.
|
Famous! |
Inside the hall a whole bunch of stalls were set up, showing off a variety of displays, from rubik's cube solving robots to tracking lions by satellite.
|
The first floor was packed |
But we had to jump on the train and back to Brooklyn to catch the end of the DUMBO arts festival.
|
Giant balls. |
The festival was just wrapping up as we arrived, but it was worth it to give the Skeptic a bit of time in Brooklyn.
|
None of us were sure if this guy was a performer. |
We went back to Manhattan to grab some dinner and a beer, exhausted from running around New York and trying to plan our next day.
|
I am not certain the world is ready for Spiderman the Musical. |
I don't get it?
ReplyDeleteSurely a full-size mouse trap would fit on an adult sized hand?
